In recent decades we have seen the emergence of a new approach to the History of Philosophy in connection with the Analytical tradition. In this paper, I propose to show the link between the birth of the Analytical approach to the History of Philosophy and the work of three figures from the History of Medieval Philosophy in the 20th century: Kretzmann, Pinborg and Kenny. Despite de numerous works dealing with the analytical approach, the role played by these three authors in the constitution of this approach continues to be neglected.
