The occasion of the present article is the centenary of the birth of Blessed Josemaría Escrivá. The author reflects on certain aspects of the formation of the human person and of his freedom, in the light of Blessed Josemaría’s teachings. Prominence is given to the conception of freedom as a gift and as a “risk” taken by God, to human existence as a free adventure, and to the necessity of relating freedom to truth and to the Transcendent.
