The family in postmodernity

The conception of the family in post-modernity varies according to the different types of post-modernity itself. Decadent post-modernity, negating reason and meaning, rejects the demand that fidelity, unity, and even sexual difference be constitutive of the family. Resistant post-modernity, seeking the recovery of meaning, considers the complementarity of female-male and the recognition of the rights of the child, from the first cell or zygote, as essential to the family.
